Chicago Sky and NCSA Athletic Recruiting Partner To Help Families Connect With College Coaches
Chicago, Illinois—July 8, 2015—High school student-athletes and their families will learn about playing their sport in college at a recruiting workshop at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont this Friday, July 10, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Amanda Perak, vice president of scouting at NCSA Athletic Recruiting, will teach families how to take control of the recruiting process and connect with coaches. Perak, who has spent more than 11 years developing relationships and identifying talent for college coaches, has guided more than 10,000 student-athletes and their parents through recruiting, and is an expert on NCAA rules and academic reform.
“We’re grateful to have this opportunity and platform through the Chicago Sky to help even more families learn about athletic recruiting,” Izell Reese, executive vice president at NCSA, said. “The rules have changed in this digital age, and we want to make sure families have the tools they need to succeed.”
The recruiting workshop is part of the Chicago Sky’s Youth Sports Night, which will include the announcement of the 2015 High School Team of the Year at halftime.
“I’m proud to announce that each member of the Team of the Year will receive an Athleadership Grant from NCSA Athletic Recruiting to help them find the right school to play at the collegiate level,” Reese said.
The Athleadership Grant program is sponsored by the NFL Players Association.
A $30 ticket package for 2 includes entrance into Chicago Sky’s 2015 Youth Sports Night Recruiting Workshop, two tickets to the game immediately following the workshop, and an autograph session with professional and Olympic athletes from Chicago. Tickets are available through Friday on Eventbrite.
